Intervention

When family and friends have exhausted all efforts and are desperate to save the life of a loved one, an intervention is often the last, best hope. Our professional intervention specialist will meet with and guide your family through the difficult process of staging an intervention. With all cards on the table it is hoped - and very often achieved - that your loved one will finally see the need for professional help. Be it a short stay, or 90 day rehab. The instant they agree to treatment, they will put on a plane or driven personally by one of our drivers to the beautiful California Mountains in Lake Arrowhead, just two hours outside of Los Angeles. This drive will be the first step toward their  healthy and productive new life free of drugs and alcohol.



Drug Addiction

There are many types of addictions, but the course is always very similar. Ultimately, the road of addiction leads to death.  While there is no known “cure” for addiction, there is currently no more effective treatment than the 12 Step Program. Here at Above It All Treatment Center, we combine the 12 steps with education, therapy and the building of new, healthy habits. During your long term drug rehabilitation, you will engage in process groups to discuss your current situations with your peers, one-on-one meetings with a drug counselor as well as sessions with a therapist to process the deep-seated issues which led to drugs in the first place. You'll also be educated on triggers, emotions, family coping techniques and strategies to stay sober. In this journey you will make many friends, who identify with your struggles, you will develop the tools necessary to build and maintain a happy, long life of freedom from drugs.

Alcohol Addiction

The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous states that alcohol is "cunning, baffling and powerful.” If you have a problem with alcohol you will appreciate this statement. You are not alone; many have found a solution to a drinking problem here at Above It All Treatment Center. In our alcohol addiction program, we combine the 12 steps with education, therapy and the building of new, healthy habits. Then, during your short term stay, you will engage in process groups to discuss your current situations with your peers, one on one meetings with a drug counselor as well as sessions with a therapist to process the deep-seated issues which led to drugs in the first place. You'll also be educated on triggers, emotions, family coping techniques and strategies to keep the temptation to drink at bay. Dual Diagnosis

Here at Above It All Treatment Center we are equipped with a professional medical staff as well as extraordinarily gifted, licensed, counselors and therapists who are experienced treating conditions known as dual diagnosis disorders. These co-occurring disorders are defined as the presence of both a mental illness and a substance-use disorder. Research has demonstrated that 50% of all individuals diagnosed with a mental illness also have a substance abuse problem. Those suffering from co-occurring disorders can be successfully treated for all conditions simultaneously here at our rehab and addiction program Los Angeles. From depression to chemical imbalances to trauma – these disorders can be treated alongside treatment for addiction. In order to help someone maintain a balanced and healthy life, it is crucial to address co-occurring disorders and treat them as a whole, rather than separately. The 12 Steps

These steps have been adapted to hundreds of self help programs for one simple reason; they work. Here at Above It All Treatment Center, we believe in utilizing the 12 Steps in our treatment programs. Writers of the 12 steps found that a person’s individual concept of God - any God – would aid them in discovering a sober life, but many people who are agnostic or even atheist have successfully worked through these steps. The 12 steps provide a format for a lifestyle which includes practicing rigorous honesty, patience, love, open mindedness and willingness to change. With these things we are well on our way. Don't be put off by 12 step programs if you happen to be a person who does not practice organized religion. There are thousands of people who do the steps and receive the results, who have come to an understanding of their own. Adherence to a recognized religion is not a prerequisite to recover from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body; like all the rest who discover this journey and do the work.



Sober Living

After successful completion of the in-house treatment segment of the recovery program, many clients opt to transition into sober living housing near to Above It All Treatment Center. Many clients need this extended time for varying reasons. Sometimes they have become so enmeshed in the recovery process here at Above It All that they just simply want more. Sometimes sober living serves as a viable transition and helps ease the client into successfully making the move into creating a new, independent life of their own. Clients looking for the relaxed atmosphere and comfort of mountain living find this a way to ease into normal life after rehab. The monthly cost of a room in one of our fully furnished sober living homes is $1,100.00 dollars (plus deposit), per month. This amount covers utility costs, as well as transportation to and from meetings, while residents cover their own food and living expenses. Clients can stay in the aftercare program as long as they like, but most stay between 2 and 3 months. Family Support

Usually by the time we get our loved one into addiction treatment we are pretty much finished with all the drama and heartache that they have caused us. We want to love them, but it seems that everything we try just makes the situation worse. They continue to make empty promises, and never follow through. How can we possibly help, when no one has been able to break through in the past?

At Above It All we provide counseling for the entire family while your loved one is in treatment. This counseling is with a licensed therapist and for those at a distance, it can be provided over the phone. You will learn what your loved one is experiencing and you will be able to hear for yourself the changes that are taking place in them. Then you can decide for yourself whether you dare to hope again.

What is asked of you is to trust the process of recovery. Your loved one will return to you as long as they do the simple things that it takes to stay clean and sober - that is, to clean up the wreckage of their past and to practice spiritual principles in all their affairs.

Our Alcohol Drug Rehab Facilities

Our alcohol drug rehab facilities are comprised of beautiful new mountain homes. Each features a different kind of setting and proximity to nature and activities.

Detox & Medical Supervision

Treatment begins with consultation with our medical doctor within the first 10 hours of your stay - because we know you will be feeling poorly very soon, if you are not already. Our primary doctor, Dr. Julie Monroe, has over 24 years of experience in addiction recovery and is extremely adept at what she does. Dr. Monroe has a long-standing experience with treating individuals struggling with alcoholism and drug addiction, whether it’s prescription medication or street drugs. She makes it safe to tell her the truth. She is assisted by fully trained and licensed medical staff members who are on duty around the clock, seven days a week.

During this critical period in your recovery, all meals are scientifically selected to nutritionally support detoxification and are prepared by a highly trained chef. During your stay in detox you will work closely with a counselor and as soon as you are able, begin attending groups at the Treatment Center. When it is appropriate, you will be integrated into one of our lovely, intimate, small group mountainside homes, where you will begin your long or short term rehab in earnest - establishing honest, sober relationships with the new friends who will become your support system for the rest of your life.
